STF Nets Wanted Arms Suspect in Patna
\nThe Bihar Special Task Force, working closely with police from West Bengal, has taken into custody Pawan Kumar Singh, a native of Ravaiya village in Jamui district, who was wanted in an arms‑related case registered in Asansol.
\nDetails of the Asansol Investigation
\nAccording to the Bihar Police headquarters, the matter was recorded as case 159/2026 on 25 September 2026 at the Coke Oven police station in Asansol. Singh faces charges under multiple sections of the Arms Act, including 25(1)(a), 25(1B)(a), 25(6) and 25(8).
\nAfter the FIR was lodged, investigators say the accused fled West Bengal, crossing into Bihar and moving between several locations to avoid capture.
\nSTF Traces the Fugitive to Athmalgola, Patna
\nWest Bengal officers promptly shared intelligence with the Bihar STF. Using a mix of electronic monitoring and local informants, the task force narrowed the suspect’s hideout to the area surrounding Athmalgola police station in Patna district.

\nArmed with the lead, an STF team stormed the identified location on 3 October. Singh was seized without resistance and later verified as the wanted individual.
\nThe operation was officially disclosed in an STF press release dated 5 October.
\nTransfer Procedures to West Bengal
\nAuthorities have now begun the formalities for a transit remand to West Bengal, where Singh will be presented before the court handling the Asansol case for further interrogation.
