New Delhi. Early Monday morning a wave of bomb‑threat emails hit the inboxes of several schools across Delhi, compelling headmasters to activate emergency procedures and clear the premises of pupils and teachers.

Threats span several institutions

Among the schools flagged were Sardar Patel Vidyalaya in Lodhi Estate and Chinmaya Vidyalaya in Vasant Vihar, along with a handful of other institutions dotted along the Lutyens’ Delhi corridor. Although the messages arrived before sunrise, school administrators only became aware of them between 11 a.m. and noon.

Swift coordination with police and fire services

Upon verification, each campus immediately alerted the Delhi Police and Delhi Fire Services, triggering their crisis‑management protocols. As a precaution, students and faculty were escorted out of the buildings while specialist units arrived on site.

Bomb squad and sniffer‑dog teams deployed

Police units equipped with bomb‑detection experts and sniffer‑dog squads poured into the affected schools. The fire department also responded; the Delhi Fire Services control room recorded a call regarding the Vasant Vihar school at approximately 12:30 p.m., dispatching a fire tender and personnel to aid the evacuation.

Thorough anti‑sabotage sweeps were carried out throughout each campus. At the time of reporting, investigators confirmed that no suspicious devices or materials had been found.

Parents kept informed

Sardar Patel Vidyalaya quickly notified parents that all children had been safely evacuated and that classes would resume only after a clear sign‑off from the authorities.

This episode revives memories of similar bomb‑threat emails received by the same school and a few other Delhi institutions about two weeks earlier, during the examination period, which also prompted extensive security checks.

Police and intelligence agencies continue to examine the latest emails, trace their source, and keep the city’s schools on heightened vigilance.
