New Delhi: On Tuesday, October 6, both gold and silver softened, echoing a broader pull‑back in international and Indian bullion markets after a series of choppy sessions.
Global Benchmarks Ease
On the COMEX, spot gold closed near $4,153.80 per ounce, down about 0.07%. Silver faced a sharper dip, sliding roughly 0.43% to around $61.04 per ounce.
Indian Market Mirrors the Decline
Domestic traders observed a similar downward drift as the market opened. Gold traded close to the ₹1.49 lakh level for a 10‑gram bar, while silver was quoted near ₹2.25 lakh per kilogram.
On the Multi Commodity Exchange (MCX), December gold futures slipped by approximately ₹176, settling at ₹1,49,300 per 10 g. Silver futures fell about ₹500, ending at ₹2,25,700 per kilogram.

Current 24‑carat gold prices across key metros are:
- Delhi: ₹1,48,320 per 10 g
- Mumbai: ₹1,48,620 per 10 g

- Kanpur: ₹1,48,517 per 10 g
- Lucknow: ₹1,49,470 per 10 g

Indicative rates for 22‑carat gold are:
- Delhi: ₹1,37,960 per 10 g
- Mumbai: ₹1,37,902 per 10 g
- Patna: ₹1,37,828 per 10 g
- Jaipur: ₹1,36,395 per 10 g
- Lucknow: ₹1,36,181 per 10 g
Silver Prices Remain Under Pressure
Domestic silver rates also slipped. Representative city‑wise quotations include:
- Delhi: ₹2,25,760 per kg
- Mumbai: ₹2,26,140 per kg
- Patna: ₹2,25,190 per kg
- Jaipur: ₹2,25,310 per kg
- Kanpur: ₹2,26,920 per kg
- Lucknow: ₹2,25,150 per kg
- Bhopal: ₹2,25,550 per kg
Because bullion prices fluctuate throughout the trading day, the final amount a retail buyer pays may differ from these indicative figures. Jewellery pricing also depends on purity, making charges, taxes and each dealer’s margin.
