Overview of the Incident

Haridwar: A sudden structural failure ripped through a wing of Amrit Law College in the Dhanouri‑Pirankaliyar locality, causing a section of the building to tumble near the restroom block. The unexpected collapse reverberated across the campus where a Provincial Armed Constabulary (PAC) platoon was on duty.

Rescue Operations

Witnesses said a PAC constable became trapped under the falling debris, triggering an immediate emergency response. Officers from the Kaliyar police station and the Dhanouri outpost reached the site within minutes, joined by rescue squads that began painstakingly clearing the wreckage.

Working against time, the rescuers carefully removed concrete slabs and broken masonry, searching for the injured jawan. After a focused effort, they succeeded in extracting the buried officer and shifting him to a safe area.

Aftermath and Medical Treatment

The rescued PAC personnel, along with several staff members who suffered minor injuries, were quickly taken to a nearby hospital for medical care. Police officials carried out an initial survey of the collapse site, documenting the damage and recording preliminary statements from on‑lookers.

Ongoing Investigation

Authorities have launched a formal inquiry to determine the cause of the structural failure. Structural engineers are slated to conduct a detailed assessment, while investigators continue to gather evidence and interview witnesses present at the time of the incident.
