What the IGNOU recruitment drive entails

The Indira Gandhi National Open University (IGNOU) in New Delhi has launched a fresh hiring round for fourteen non‑teaching posts under Advertisement No. 69/2026/Admn. Candidates are invited to submit applications for the posts of Assistant Director, Technical Manager and Technical Assistant.

Vacancies, qualifications and age limits

Assistant Director – 2 posts

Applicants should possess a BE/B‑Tech, M.Sc. or MCA in Computer Science/IT with a minimum of 55 % marks and at least ten years of relevant experience. The upper age limit is 48 years; the post falls under Pay Level‑10.

Technical Manager – 4 posts

Eligible candidates need a BE/B‑Tech, M.Sc. or MCA in the relevant discipline, 55 % minimum marks and five years of experience. The age ceiling is 42 years and the position is also classified under Pay Level‑10.

Technical Assistant – 8 posts

The criteria mirror the other categories: a BE/B‑Tech, M.Sc. or MCA in Computer Science/IT with at least 55 % marks. The maximum age permitted is 37 years and remuneration follows Pay Level‑8.

Age relaxation is applicable as per Central Government norms for SC, ST, OBC, PwD, ex‑servicemen and government employees.

Application process and fee details

The online portal becomes active on 3 Oct 2026 and closes at 23:59:59 on 2 Nov 2026. General, OBC‑NCL and EWS candidates must pay Rs 1,000, while SC, ST, PwD, ex‑servicemen and women candidates are required to pay Rs 500. Payments can be made via debit/credit card, net‑banking or mobile‑wallet.

Selection procedure

Depending on the designation, IGNOU may assess applicants through a blend of qualification screening, experience verification, written/computer‑based examinations, skill tests and personal interviews. Aspirants should refer to the official notification for the exact evaluation criteria for their chosen post.

Hard‑copy submission – mandatory

Filling the online form is only half the requirement. After electronic submission, candidates must print the application, attach self‑attested copies of all required certificates (educational, experience and, where applicable, category), and dispatch the packet to the university.

All hard‑copy dossiers must be received by the Recruitment Cell no later than 12 Nov 2026.
