Intensive Three‑Day Campaign to Close Gaps in the Electoral Roll

From 7 October to 9 October, Jharkhand’s election machinery will run dedicated digitisation camps at polling stations throughout the state. The effort is part of the ongoing Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of the rolls and gives citizens who were missed a fresh opportunity to enrol.

Focus on Adding New Voters

Chief Electoral Officer K. Ravi Kumar has asked District Election Officers, Electoral Registration Officers and their assistants to ensure the three‑day operation runs without a hitch. Residents who are not yet listed can submit Form 6 at any of the camps. Staff will also expedite the digitisation of Forms 6, 7 and 8 received from Booth Level Officers—Form 6 for new registrations, Form 7 for deletions, and Form 8 for corrections or updates.

Statewide Mega Help‑Desk on 10 October

After the digitisation sprint, every polling station will host a BLO‑BLA‑2 meeting‑cum‑mega help‑desk on 10 October. Voters can obtain registration guidance, lodge objections, verify notices issued during the revision, and resolve any other roll‑related concerns. This is the fourth statewide initiative aimed at demystifying the revision process and addressing voter queries.

Ensuring No Eligible Voter Is Left Behind

CEO Kumar stressed that the election apparatus must leave no eligible Indian citizen out of the roll. Officers have been directed to intensify outreach in areas with vulnerable or under‑represented populations, providing additional assistance where required.

Why Inaccuracies Appear in the Roll

The chief electoral officer explained that mismatches can arise from enumeration errors, faulty mapping in earlier revisions, or legacy data glitches. The present SIR exercise is not meant to fix every historic mistake; its aim is to produce a current, accurate roll for the upcoming election.

Eligibility Criteria for Inclusion

Applicants must be Indian citizens, have turned 18 on or before 1 October 2026, and normally reside within the jurisdiction of the relevant polling station. Required documents will be verified at the time of registration.

Election officials have been instructed to speed up the processing and digitisation of Forms 6, 7 and 8 so that applicants receive swift assistance and the roll reflects the latest information. The final roll from this SIR cycle is scheduled for release on 19 October.
