North Western Railway (NWR) has kicked off its FY 2026‑27 apprenticeship campaign, offering a total of 2,008 training slots across its network. The official notice was published on 1 Oct 2026. Applications will be accepted electronically from 7 Oct 2026 through 11:59 pm on 6 Nov 2026. Paper forms are not accepted.

Division‑wise Distribution of Seats

The vacancies are allocated to the following NWR divisions:

  • Jaipur division: 580 seats
  • Bikaner division: 524 seats
  • Ajmer division: 500 seats
  • Jodhpur division: 134 seats

Other openings include:

  • 101 posts at BTC Carriage, Ajmer
  • 69 posts at BTC Loco, Ajmer
  • 33 posts at Carriage Workshop, Bikaner
  • 67 posts at Carriage Workshop, Jodhpur

Trades Available for Apprenticeship

Selected candidates will undergo practical training in one of the following streams:

  • Fitter
  • Electrician
  • Diesel Mechanic
  • Welder
  • Carpenter
  • Electronics Mechanic
  • Computer Operator & Programming Assistant (COPA)

Applicants must choose a single railway unit while filling the form; multiple selections are not permitted.

Eligibility Requirements

To be considered for the apprenticeship, candidates must meet all of the following:

  • Pass Class 10 from any recognized board with a minimum of 50 % marks.
  • Possess a valid National Trade Certificate (NCVT/SCVT) in the chosen trade.
  • Be aged between 15 and 24 years as on 6 Nov 2026.

Age relaxations are provided as per government norms:

  • SC/ST – additional 5 years
  • OBC – additional 3 years
  • Persons with benchmark disabilities – additional 10 years

Selection Procedure – No Written Exam

The recruitment does not involve a written test. A merit list will be generated by taking the simple average of the percentages secured in Class 10 and the ITI qualification. In case of identical averages, the older candidate will be given priority.

Candidates shortlisted in the merit list will undergo document verification followed by a medical examination before final confirmation.

Application Fee Details

General‑category aspirants are required to pay an online fee of ₹ 100. The fee is exempted for SC, ST, PwBD candidates and for all female applicants. Once the payment is processed, the application cannot be edited.

Step‑by‑Step Application Guide

Prospective apprentices should log on to the official NWR recruitment portal at rrcjaipur.in and fill out the online form. Required information includes personal details, Aadhaar number, Class 10 scores, and trade‑specific certificates. All supporting documents must be uploaded before submission.

Only one application per candidate per railway unit is allowed; duplicate entries may lead to cancellation of the candidature.

Tip: Complete the entire application well before the deadline to avoid last‑minute technical glitches.

Final deadline: 11:59 pm on 6 Nov 2026. Late submissions will not be entertained.
