A Vatican‑City Inspired Pavilion Takes Shape
In the coal‑laden belt of Rajrappa, the Shri Shri Durga Puja Committee has embarked on an ambitious project: a pandal that mirrors the grandeur of Italy’s Vatican City. Spearheaded by Pankaj Tent House of Ramgarh, a team of more than a dozen craftsmen is erecting a edifice that will soar to approximately 51 feet in height and span 70 feet in width. The committee has allocated close to ₹7.75 lakh to bring this architectural marvel to life, offering visitors a glimpse of the iconic Holy See.
Fair Attractions and Cultural Line‑up
Beyond the awe‑inspiring pavilion, the venue will pulse with a host of entertainment options. Organisers aim to install roughly ten different amusement rides, featuring a heart‑pounding stunt ride dubbed the “Well of Death.” Food stalls, souvenir kiosks and a dedicated cultural troupe will keep families and devotees engaged throughout the festivities. This year’s Durga idol is planned to stand six to seven feet tall.
Enhanced Security Framework
Anticipating a massive influx of visitors, the committee has bolstered safety measures with a network of around 60 CCTV cameras monitoring the pandal and its surroundings. Additional police personnel from the Rajrappa station will be on standby to ensure order and respond swiftly to any incidents.
Spiritual Backdrop
Rajrappa already enjoys a spiritual magnetism thanks to the renowned Maa Chhinnamastika Temple, which draws pilgrims from far‑flung regions during Navratri. This year’s combination of a Vatican‑styled pandal, vibrant fair, cultural programs and reinforced security is set to make Durga Puja a standout experience for both worshippers and tourists alike.
