Chief Minister Hands Out Appointment Letters to 332 Fresh Health Personnel

During a ceremony at the Mukhya Sevak Sadan in the CM’s Dehradun camp office, Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami presented appointment letters to 332 newly recruited members of the state’s health workforce. The cohort includes 271 candidates for the AYUSH division and 61 allopathic pharmacy officers under the Employees’ State Insurance (ESI) scheme.

Dhami praised the inductees and urged them to carry out their responsibilities with sincerity, empathy, and a true sense of public duty. He reminded them that an appointment letter is more than a document—it signals the start of a commitment to uplift the lives of citizens, particularly those who depend heavily on government health facilities.

Direct Benefits for Public Health

The incoming AYUSH and ESI staff will be stationed at the front lines of Uttarakhand’s medical infrastructure. In many isolated hamlets, patients trek long distances to reach the nearest government hospital, expecting skilled and caring treatment. The chief minister highlighted that the attitude, responsiveness, and efficiency of these workers are critical to maintaining public confidence.

He called on the recruits to set a positive example wherever they are posted, noting that each patient arrives with hope and that prompt, honest assistance can transform lives.

Transparent, Merit‑Based Hiring

Dhami underscored recent measures to ensure recruitment remains open and merit‑driven, citing crackdowns on cheating networks and the rollout of a new anti‑copying regulation. He pointed out that over the past five years, more than 35,000 young Uttarakhandis have secured government positions based on their competence and hard work.

Uttarakhand’s Aspiration as an AYUSH and Wellness Hub

The state, long celebrated for yoga, Ayurveda, and medicinal herbs, is now being positioned as a flagship AYUSH destination and a global wellness centre. Plans include extending AYUSH services to every district, modernising Panchakarma units, and launching Ayurveda Utkarsh Centres.

Digital health initiatives are also gaining momentum: the e‑Sanjeevani platform enables remote specialist consultations, while the Ayush Setu portal offers a range of online services. Additionally, several homestays have partnered with nearby Ayurvedic centres, allowing tourists to blend yoga, Ayurveda, and Panchakarma into their stay.

ESI Healthcare Now Covers All 13 Districts

The ESI scheme, previously limited to six districts, has expanded to all 13 districts of Uttarakhand. A 100‑bed ESI hospital in Rudrapur is already operational, a 300‑bed facility is under construction in Haridwar, and land in Kashipur has been earmarked for another hospital.

The recruitment drive for an additional 47 medical officers is in its final phase, reinforcing the government’s resolve to broaden and improve health‑care accessibility throughout the state.

Key Officials in Attendance

AYUSH and AYUSH Education Minister Madan Kaushik also lauded the new appointments, stating that they will strengthen departmental performance and broaden health services across the region. The ceremony was attended by Rajya Sabha MP Naresh Bansal, MLAs Umesh Sharma Kau and Savita Kapoor, Labour Secretary Sridhar Babu Addanki, AYUSH Secretary Ranjana Rajguru, Additional Secretary Vijay Kumar Jogdande, Akanksha Konde, and other senior officials.
