Delhi’s ₹1.5 Crore Heist Cracked: Five Men Taken Into Custody

New Delhi – In a dramatic turn of events, the Delhi Police announced the capture of five individuals suspected of orchestrating a cash theft estimated at ₹1.5 crore.

The robbery took place on the evening of 7 September along the Outer Ring Road, close to the Geeta Colony flyover. The victims, travelling together in an auto‑rickshaw from Chandni Chowk to Safdarjung Enclave, were carrying a bag that held roughly ₹1.5 crore in cash.

According to police, a pair of motorbike‑riding assailants blocked the auto‑rickshaw, brandished weapons and forced the men to surrender the bag before speeding away.

Following the complaint, a case was registered and a dedicated team began tracing the perpetrators. After days of interrogation and forensic work, investigators identified five suspects and took them into custody.

During the operation, authorities recovered close to ₹1 crore from the accused. The remaining amount is still being pursued, and detectives are probing possible links to a larger conspiracy.
