Chandigarh — On a recent trade mission to Singapore, Haryana’s chief minister Naveen Singh Saini used the occasion to spotlight a suite of investment opportunities that stretch well beyond the state’s marquee corporate hub, Gurugram.
Saini met with representatives from over a dozen Singapore‑based companies, urging them to look at projects ranging from cutting‑edge manufacturing to next‑generation industry infrastructure.
Emerging Cities in the Spotlight
The government plans to replicate a slice of Gurugram’s vibrant tech ecosystem in five other locations – Panchkula, Karnal, Hisar, Sonipat and Rohtak – positioning them as future magnets for technology‑driven enterprises and multinational corporations.
Officials point to a blend of skilled labour, robust connectivity, competitive operating costs and rapidly improving urban amenities as a compelling value proposition for investors.
Key Sectors Being Targeted
Talks in Singapore highlighted several priority verticals: semiconductors, electronics, green‑energy solutions, data‑centre development, advanced manufacturing, warehousing and digital‑infrastructure services.
Saini emphasized Haryana’s strategic placement within the Delhi‑NCR, its established industrial base and seamless road‑and‑freight networks as decisive advantages for firms eyeing northern India.
The state is actively courting Singaporean players to set up technology centres, global capability units and other strategic operations inside Haryana.
Data‑Centre Policy‑2026 in Focus
Data infrastructure emerged as a central theme. Haryana has introduced a New Data Centre Policy‑2026 aimed at simplifying land allocation, power supply, ancillary facilities and regulatory clearances for data‑centre projects.
The overarching goal is to cultivate a more investor‑friendly climate that speeds up the deployment of large‑scale data facilities.
Logistics and Infrastructure Advantages
Haryana is leveraging its dense web of expressways, national highways, industrial corridors and freight hubs to strengthen its pitch to global investors.
Because the state sits between major manufacturing and consumption zones in North India, officials argue it offers a natural edge for logistics and supply‑chain activities. Singapore’s expertise in logistics and urban planning could spark joint initiatives.
Accelerated Government Support
Saini assured prospective investors that the Haryana administration would provide hands‑on assistance at every stage of project implementation, from proposal review to on‑ground execution.
Faster approval processes and dedicated administrative help are being promoted as hallmarks of the state’s drive to become a more competitive destination for foreign business.
Job Creation at the Core
The investment push is not solely about capital inflow; it also aims to generate quality jobs for local youth and to fuel demand for industry‑relevant skills.
Through its outreach in Singapore, Haryana hopes to expand its industrial footprint beyond Gurugram, forging stronger international partnerships that accelerate technology adoption, manufacturing growth and infrastructure development across the region.
