A quick nap spirals into a night‑time burglary

During an early‑morning drive, Vivek and his relatives pulled over near Rai to shake off fatigue. After securing the car, they settled inside for a short sleep, unaware that a criminal scheme was already unfolding.

How the thieves struck

In the dim pre‑dawn light, Vivek awoke to find a stranger leaning against the vehicle, rifling through the locked doors. The intruder snatched a bag, a laptop, a smartphone, earbuds, chargers and other personal effects. Before Vivek could react, the perpetrator sprinted away, leapt over a metal railing and linked up with two accomplices waiting on a motorcycle across the road.

A coordinated getaway

The trio sped off on the bike, leaving the family bewildered and their belongings vanished. Vivek estimated the total loss at about ₹2.25 lakh.

Police response and ongoing probe

Vivek, a resident of Maruti Kunj, filed a formal complaint with the Rai police, urging swift recovery of the stolen items and arrest of the culprits. Authorities have logged the FIR and are reviewing witness statements, CCTV footage, and any forensic leads to trace the suspects and their escape route.

Investigators stressed the need for heightened caution during roadside halts, especially in secluded stretches, and advised motorists to double‑check locks and surroundings before taking a break.
