Samsung expands its sound lineup with the debut of the Galaxy Buds On, its first wireless earbuds that attach to the outer ear rather than sit inside the canal. The open‑ear architecture lets listeners enjoy music or calls while staying tuned to the world around them.
Clip‑on, open‑ear layout for comfort and situational awareness
The Buds On sport a wide, adjustable clip that rests gently on the pinna, paired with a flexible band that flexes to suit a variety of ear shapes. By positioning the drivers just outside the ear canal, the earbuds deliver rich audio without sealing off ambient sounds, helping users remain alert to their surroundings.
Sound quality and leakage mitigation
Audio is driven by Samsung’s TwinBoost speakers and a Qualcomm Snapdragon S7 Gen 1 Sound Platform backed by a Class‑D amp. An intelligent volume‑balancing engine automatically equalises output, while the proprietary Audio Leakage Reduction feature curtails stray sound, reducing disturbance for nearby listeners.
Battery endurance and playback duration
Samsung claims the Buds On can sustain up to 9.5 hours of nonstop music on a single charge—enough to power a full day of commuting, office work, or remote‑learning sessions.
Calling, AI features and gesture navigation
Three integrated microphones, a bone‑conduction voice sensor, and AI‑powered noise suppression collaborate to provide crystal‑clear voice transmission even in bustling environments. The earbuds sync with Samsung’s Galaxy AI suite, enabling voice commands such as launching Gemini Live or recording a Quick Voice Memo. Head‑gesture controls let users answer calls, mute alarms, or glance at notifications without touching a device.
Effortless pairing with Galaxy gear
Opening the charging case instantly connects the Buds On to compatible Galaxy smartphones and tablets. Users can tweak volume, EQ presets, and other settings straight from the phone’s Quick Panel or Settings app.
Pricing, launch date and pending specs
The earbuds are priced at KRW 299,000 (approximately ₹21,000) and will launch in South Korea on 27 October in a sleek black finish. A global rollout is slated for later, though Samsung has yet to reveal details such as driver dimensions, Bluetooth version, supported codecs or charging speed. Additional specifications are expected as the launch approaches.
