Fatal Slip at Parsokha

On Thursday evening, four‑year‑old Ansh Chaudhary was enjoying playtime near his house in the tiny settlement of Parsokha, which falls under the Kotwali police area of Maihar, Madhya Pradesh. Drawn to the edge of an uncovered septic tank that still contained water, the boy lost his balance and fell in.

Immediate Rescue Efforts

Neighbors and relatives who heard his cries rushed to the scene, managed to pull the child from the tank and hurried him to the nearest medical facility. Despite the rapid response and the doctors’ best attempts, Ansh was declared dead, leaving his family shattered and the neighbourhood in disbelief.

Police Probe Initiated

The Kotwali police arrived quickly, filing a case of accidental death. Investigators are now examining why the septic tank was left uncovered, whether any protective barriers existed, and what lapses may have contributed to the tragedy.

Demand for Safer Infrastructure

The sorrowful incident has revived urgent calls for the removal or proper covering of open septic tanks and pits in residential zones. Residents are urging authorities to enforce stricter safety measures, especially in areas where children play, as the inquiry continues and the community seeks concrete preventive steps.
