Night‑time tragedy claims the life of an Indore entrepreneur

On a Sunday evening in the Aerodrome police‑station area of Indore, a 44‑year‑old businessman lost his life after his car struck a provisional divider that had been set up for metro construction. The driver, Kamal Vagela, was heading home along Mahavir Krishna Avenue when the incident occurred.

Police reports state that Kamal was travelling with a group of friends. As each companion alighted at different stops, he continued alone toward his residence. Moments later his vehicle hit the construction barrier positioned close to his home. Witnesses who arrived at the scene called emergency services, and Kamal was rushed to Maharaja Yashwantrao Hospital, where he was later declared dead despite intensive medical efforts.

Kamal, son of Durgashankar Vagela, operated a hair‑cosmetics business. He is survived by his wife, two daughters and a son.

Relatives question safety arrangements at the metro site

Following the accident, Kamal’s family has raised serious doubts about the adequacy of warning signage around the metro construction zone. They contend that the temporary divider was installed without visible markings or alerts for drivers, creating a blind spot that may have directly contributed to the fatal collision.

The family is demanding a comprehensive explanation of the safety protocols in place and is urging authorities to reassess traffic management and protective measures in the area.

Police open investigation and examine CCTV footage

Law enforcement agencies have launched an inquiry to reconstruct the events leading up to the crash. Officers are reviewing CCTV recordings from nearby cameras to determine how the vehicle approached the divider and whether any other factors played a role.

Investigators are also inspecting the road surface and overall layout of the construction zone. A detailed report will be released after all evidence, including video footage and on‑site examinations, has been thoroughly evaluated.
