Muzaffarpur. In a rapid‑response operation close to Kalyambagh Chowk, constables from the Kazimohammadpur police station intercepted two men carrying approximately 80 grams of ganja. The duo was escorted to the station where Station House Officer Chandrabhushan Kumar Singh recorded an FIR and set legal proceedings in motion.
Extended Raids and Ongoing Investigation
Following the arrests, officers launched nocturnal searches at several sites identified during the suspects’ interrogation. Investigators are now scrutinising the intelligence supplied by the detainees to trace a broader trafficking web.
Recent weeks have witnessed more than two dozen arrests across the area, accompanied by seizures that include:
- Ganja (cannabis)
- Smack
- Heroin
- Brown sugar
Operation Spreads into Vaishali
The anti‑narcotics drive has now reached the neighboring Vaishali district. Just three days earlier, Ahiyapur police conducted a raid near the Bairiya Bus Stand, confiscating 28.06 kg of ganja and taking Mithun Kumar of Bhagwanpur into custody.
Further questioning revealed additional operatives based in Vaishali. Earlier in the week, a joint task force seized 185 grams of heroin and smack from three alleged couriers near Chandni Chowk. The accused—Vikram Kumar, Sakaldeep Rai (both from Jadua, under Nagar police jurisdiction) and Sonu Kumar Rai of Bidupur—are currently detained as the probe continues to uncover more links in the drug network.
