Background of the victim
Gudiya had been living apart from her husband for almost eight years; her spouse is believed to be residing in Nepal. Seeking a fresh start, she moved into a rented apartment in the Prakashnagar locality.
Allegations from the family
According to relatives, a man named Ashish Jaiswal, also known as “Siku,” who resides in Ward 1, had been a frequent visitor to Gudiya’s home for the past three to four years. Gudiya’s mother, Anjani Devi, and sister, Varsha Devi, claim that Ashish strangled her.
The family added that an argument between Gudiya and Ashish took place roughly four days before the fatal incident, and that Gudiya had informed her maternal relatives about the dispute.
Details surrounding the night of the death
Relatives disclosed that Gudiya’s nine‑year‑old son was staying with his maternal grandmother on the night in question, leaving his mother alone at the rented house. Her lifeless body was discovered later that evening.

Law enforcement arrived at the scene after receiving a tip‑off and began a thorough examination of the premises. SDPO IPS Prasanna Kumar MV stated that the case is being investigated from every possible angle, and that further action will depend on the post‑mortem report and any additional evidence uncovered.
