Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami affirmed that the people of Uttarakhand yearn for both development and a stable environment, and that his government is steering the state’s overall progress in line with that vision. He highlighted that by foregrounding public‑welfare programmes, the administration aims to ensure that the fruits of growth touch every citizen.
Guiding Philosophy: Nation First, Organization Second, Individual Third
The chief minister reiterated his party’s foundational credo – ‘Nation First, Organization Second, Individual Third’ – and said that this hierarchy drives every decision taken for Uttarakhand’s advancement.
Referring to Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s deep ties with the state, Dhami noted that the prime minister has visited Uttarakhand 28 times since taking office. He added that the centre has also placed a special focus on the development of border districts, a stance that gained momentum after the prime minister described Mana as the nation’s ‘First Village.’
Tourism and Sustainable Growth on the Rise
Dhami pointed out that Uttarakhand is making headway across multiple sectors under the guidance of the central leadership. He mentioned that the state currently tops the NITI Aayog Sustainable Development Goals (SDG) Index nationwide and has earned notable accolades for its tourism offerings.
He also said Uttarakhand is carving out a reputation as a preferred destination for film shootings, adventure activities, and destination weddings.
Boosting Youth Employment and Entrepreneurship
The chief minister cited the prime minister’s vision of a developed India by 2047, emphasizing that young people will be pivotal in achieving that target. Accordingly, the state is expanding avenues for education, skill‑building, formal employment and self‑employment for its youth.
Dhami shared that he enjoys interacting directly with young citizens, preferring to converse as a peer rather than a politician. He believes that listening to their ideas rejuvenates his own resolve.
Ensuring Transparency in Public Recruitment
Speaking on recruitment reforms, Dhami announced the introduction of a strict anti‑cheating statute that has bolstered confidence among meritorious candidates. He disclosed that roughly 35,000 youngsters have been inducted into government services over the past five years.
Reclaiming Encroached Government Land
Dhami reported ongoing efforts to protect Uttarakhand’s natural character by clearing illegal settlements on state property. To date, more than 13,000 acres of government land have been reclaimed across the region.
He concluded by stating that the ultimate goal is to extend development initiatives to the most remote corners of the state while furnishing young talent with platforms to flourish according to their abilities.
